Where did they originate from ?

Waist beads began in Ancient Egypt North Africa. They came into existence around the 15th century as a status symbol for beautiful women. The natives had different views about its uses and miracles. 

What is the purpose/ uses of them?

They are worn as a celebration of womanhood, sexuality, femininity, fertility, healing, spirituality, body shaping, protection and wealth.
